About the role
The current vacancy is with the Department of Health in Pearl City. The salary range is $6,221 to $7,568 per month (SR-24, Step D to I). Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, coordinate, direct and review all activities of a large institution laboratory
- Maintain the overall quality and quantity of services provided
- Make assignments and maintain effective relationships with and between subordinates
- Make performance evaluations on subordinates
- Prepare budget estimates and justifications, obtain approval for equipment and supplies, and prepare requisitions
- Keep inventory
- Attend general hospital meetings and maintain effective relationships with other hospital units
- Give consultations and advice in one or more fields of specialty
- Review and revise operating procedures
- Read technical literature and keep abreast of developments in medical technology
- Maintain records, prepare records and reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Legal Authorization To Work Requirement: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Licenses: Applicants must possess a current Clinical Laboratory Technologist license issued by the Department of Health, State of Hawaii. No reciprocity with other jurisdictions.
- Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional medical technologist experience involving a variety of laboratory procedures and tests on samples of body fluids, tissues, and other materials, assisting others in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. At least one (1) year of experience must be comparable to the Medical Technologist IV.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional medical technologist experience involving a variety of laboratory procedures and tests on samples of body fluids, tissues, and other materials, assisting others in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. At least one (1) year of experience must be comparable to the Medical Technologist IV.
