Medical Technologist - Serology and Hematology

Pay Rate Low: $30.80 | Pay Rate High: $45.50 A non-profit organization that specializes in blood donation for hospitals is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform hematology and serology testing with their growing team. Schedules Available 2nd shift: 2p-10:30p, 5 days a week to include rotating weekends, holidays, and an on-call scheduleOn-call rotations run from Wednesday to Tuesday, which includes the weekends. During the week, team members are on-call from 10:30 pm until approximately 7:00 am the next day; on the weekends, they are on-call from Friday at 10:30 pm, all day Saturday and Sunday, until approximately 7:00 am Monday. When on-call, they are eligible to receive $2/hr for every hour they are on-call and if they have to report back to the lab while on-call, they will be paid a minimum of 2 hours pay as well as any applicable shift differential.Training on 1st shift for approximately 4 months Location: Ft. Lauderdale, FL Pay: DOE 1 year: $30.80/hr2-5.4years: $35.25/hr5.5-9 years: $38.75/hr9+ years: $42/hr 2nd Shift Position Shift Differential +$3.50/hr for hours worked during second shift +$8/hr for weekends Responsibilities Accept, verify, and process incoming cellular therapy samplesPerforms various testing procedures on donor and patient specimensOperate flow cytometers, including sorters and analyzersKeep documentationPerforms essential functions of the lab technician and lab assistant as needed Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related life science1 year of experience as a Medical TechnologistValid and current Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in Serology or Hematology We strongly encourage candidates who have some of the skills to apply.
