Duties
- Performs laboratory tests relevant to the section(s) in which they are assigned including quality control testing following established criteria.
- Performs clerical and computer related activities.
- Performs phlebotomy with a degree of supervision dependent on experience and training.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in laboratory related area.
Licensure/Registration/Certification
- ASCP preferred
Work Experience
- One year full time or equivalent hospital experience including phlebotomy.
Work Conditions
- Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
- Occupational: Some occupational risk
- Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
- Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
