Medical Technologist | PRN

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)/Medical Technologist (MT)/Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing highly complex testing for use in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease. This involves a thorough knowledge of laboratory practice in order to correlate, interpret, evaluate and ensure the validity of patient results.

This position is PRN working as needed by the department. 12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex testing for use in the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of disease.
• Correlates, interprets, evaluates, and ensures the validity of patient results.
• Aids in the maintenance and operation of the laboratory by assuring compliance with all laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory agency standards.

Requirements

• BS or AS degree in related field or documented military laboratory training.
• Must possess education credentials necessary to satisfy CLIA '88 personnel testing qualifications for a high complexity laboratory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited MT/MLS/MLT program or Board of Registry equivalent.

Skills

• Training and/or experience in all areas of the clinical laboratory and laboratory information systems.
• National certification/registration as MLS/CLS/MT/MLT via ASCP, AMT, NCA or HEW.
