Medical Technologist II - Full Time

About the Role

The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist is part of the provider care team, contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patient conditions through technical and scientific expertise. This position ensures accurate, precise, and timely performance of laboratory tests, evaluates and reports results, and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements to uphold a World Class Laboratory standard.

The role requires excellent customer service skills in alignment with Mercy Signature Service for all internal and external interactions. Duties and responsibilities are performed consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests with accuracy, precision, and timeliness.
• Evaluate and report test results while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service in all interactions, adhering to Mercy Signature Service standards.
• Uphold the mission, values, and service standards of Mercy in all duties.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in a major that meets a certification agency’s requirements or completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course.
• MLT or MLS certification or certification obtained within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience.
• MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
