Medical Technologist II - FT Night
Role Overview
The Medical Technologist II performs clinical laboratory testing across various sections, including General Lab and Blood Bank, under supervision. They are fully proficient in their area of expertise and may serve as a Generalist or Key Operator Subject Matter Expert. Conducts independent analysis of blood, body fluids, and other specimens using established procedures. Performs routine tests in hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank. Maintains quality assurance, equipment, logs, and safety protocols. Acts as a resource, trains staff, and supports supervisory duties in their absence. Handles instrument maintenance, reagent management, and procedure updates. Participates in proficiency testing, CAP, and accreditation readiness. May perform blood bank duties, including inventory and transfusion support.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Health Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Proficiency in computer/data entry, Excel, Word, and healthcare communication.
