About the role

The position is located at Atrium Huntersville Free Standing Emergency Department and is part-time with benefits eligibility. The schedule includes 2-12 hour shifts per week, occasionally on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area, documenting corrective actions for non-conforming events.
  • Prepares reagents and maintains inventory to reduce departmental waste and expense.
  • Exercises clinical judgment to identify and solve test system issues, contacting specialists or setting up service as needed.
  • Reviews and revises procedures and documentation related to accreditation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains clear communication with shift colleagues and leadership about issues affecting patient care or department operations.
  • Participates in planning and implementing changes through involvement in staff meetings, task forces, or projects.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent education and training as defined by CLIA.
  • MLT registry eligible or equivalent within one year of hire.
  • MLT (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Must be able to work in areas containing biohazardous (infectious) materials, chemicals, fires, and mechanical hazards.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stretch, stoop, bend, and lift light (20 pounds) to moderately heavy (50 pounds) loads.

Skills

  • Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures and policies.
  • Ability to assess priorities and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both shift-to-shift and with leadership.
  • Ability to participate in team meetings and projects.

Pay

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on-call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
