About the role

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing patient analytic laboratory testing, quality control, data analysis, results reporting, instrument maintenance and technical problem resolution. This position requires a service-committed individual who is detail-oriented and can perform complex data analysis, exercise sound, independent judgment and demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Receive specimens and establish and maintain positive identification of specimens
  • Determine suitability of specimen
  • Acquire and prepare reagents as needed
  • Perform instrument maintenance and calibration

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Sciences (required)
  • Master’s degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
  • Certification for Medical Technologist: MLS (ASCP), MT (ASCP), AMT, or MT (AAB)
  • Specialist Certification in discipline (preferred): Specialist Hematology (SH ASCP), Microbiology (SM ASCP), Specialist Blood Banking (SBB ASCP), or Tech Chemistry (SC ASCP)

Pay

The pay scale is $35.87 - $51.61 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale aligned with the applicant’s years of experience.

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE)
  • Day shift
  • Rotating weekends
  • 10-hour shifts
