About the role

Performs and interprets routine and complex assays on blood, prepares blood/blood components for transfusion to a patient, performs blood types and antibodies identification as well as blood group antigens and compatibility, participates in evaluating, documenting and implementation of technical assays.

Responsibilities

• Performs and interprets routine and complex assays on blood
• Prepares blood/blood components for transfusion to a patient
• Performs blood types and antibodies identification as well as blood group antigens and compatibility
• Performs all related documentation tasks
• Participates in evaluating, documenting and implementation of technical assays

Requirements

• Masters of Science in Medical Technology (MSMT), Associates Degree of Science (AAS) or equivalent including clinical rotations
• Certified by Category I Agency American Society of Clinical Pathologist, National Certification Agency
• Successful completion of all orientations

Qualifications

• Education: Meets education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services laws

Skills

• Knowledge of medical technology principles and practices
• Ability to perform complex laboratory procedures
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

$38.55 - $50.53 per hour
