Medical-Surgical Nursing Adjunct Faculty - Theory and Clinical
About the role
National Louis University is seeking Adjunct Faculty to implement curriculum in the classroom or clinical/laboratory settings. Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing, have an unencumbered Illinois RN license, and at least 2 years of relevant clinical experience. Experience teaching BSN undergraduate nursing students is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses based on approved syllabi and curriculum
- Implement evaluation methods as outlined in the syllabus
- Collaborate with nursing program administration for additional assignments and evaluations
- Attend workshops and clinical agency orientations as applicable
- Supervise and maintain laboratory equipment if teaching in the simulation/skills lab
- Facilitate student-centered learning
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing
- Unencumbered Illinois RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a related clinical area
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Qualifications
- Preferred 1-3 years of experience teaching BSN undergraduate nursing students
SkillsKnowledge of current and evolving content in the field

Pay
Adjunct Faculty are paid by course or assignment each term. Specific amounts will be indicated in an electronic contract issued upon course assignment.
Schedule
Candidates for theory courses must be available to teach 2 days per week on the Chicago Campus. Candidates for clinical courses must be able to teach an 8.5-hour clinical in the Greater Chicago area.
