Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin, and Washington counties. The hospital offers a state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multi-room surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building houses primary care physicians and visiting medical and surgical specialists. The hospital also operates four rural health clinics, a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department, and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.

The Medical/Surgical Department is a 34-bed unit (15-bed Medical Surgical + 6-bed Observation) providing comprehensive biopsychosocial nursing to patients requiring general medical, pre- and post-operative care, urology, cardiac, and pediatric care. Department nurses deliver exceptional care to infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Average patient census is less than 18.

About the Role

Provides direct patient care activities including IV management, utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of the RN.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatments and procedures within the scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Participates in professional development and lifelong learning.
• Performs patient assessment and evaluation with regard to the patient’s age and developmental needs.
• Assists in developing and updating the plan of care with regard to the patient’s age and developmental needs.
• Implements plan of care with regard to the patient’s age and developmental needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• LPN - IV Certification
• No prior nursing or supervisor experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Less than 2 years of nursing experience
