Medical Surgical CNA

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Overview

Location: Mission Regional Medical Center - Mission, TX. Bonus Amount: $3500. Sign-On Bonus Available for Qualified Candidates (eligibility and payout terms apply, details discussed during interview).

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown; feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration); observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses; may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms; ensure the environment stays clean and safe
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire (required)
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
• Facility Specific Requirement: Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement
