Medical Support Assistant
About the role
CVP is seeking a Medical Support Assistant to provide administrative support services to the Sheridan VA Health Care System in Sheridan, Wyoming. The role is primarily remote but may require on-site support as needed.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate care between VA and community providers, ensuring timely and appropriate care for Veterans.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate care according to VA directives.
- Process community care consults through HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and Provider Profile Management System (PPMS).
- Complete scheduling actions within three business days, targeting 20 actions per day.
- Document administrative notes for consults, no-shows, cancellations, and "unable to reach" situations accurately and appropriately.
- Resolve appointments within two business days for no-shows or cancellations.
- Provide excellent customer service to Veterans, their families, and VA staff, adhering to ICARE core values.
- Maintain patient demographic information and ensure privacy and confidentiality.
- Manage National TeleOncology Clinic profiles, completing grid access requests and provider grid changes.
- Use data from reports to collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams for patient appointments.
- Complete mandatory annual training and comply with VA policies and procedures.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months customer service experience.
- Type at least 50 WPM.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology; experience in the medical field required.
- Oral and written proficiency in English.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Benefits
The position offers Health & Wellness (H&W) benefits at a rate of $5.09/hr, prorated based on enrollment in the benefits offered, including automatic enrollment in employer-paid plans.
Pay
Hourly Pay: $19.14/hr
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm (8-hour shifts), excluding federal holidays.
