Medical Staff and Privileging Coordinator
About the role
The role provides ongoing support and coordination while acting as liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration. The position is responsible for the on-going credentialing/privileging process and other administrative functions for the Medical Staff, Administration, Advance Practice Providers and Allied Health Professionals which supports overall patient care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Medical Staff database system.
- Prepare appropriate Medical Staff directories and maintain accurate and complete rosters of Medical Staff members.
- Provide orientation and notifications to the Medical Staff regarding licensure, registration, educational, and other requirements and expirations.
- Ensure the Medical Staff Office processes comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinate the cyclical reappointment or temporary privileges process for the Medical Staff and specified allied health professionals, and provide appropriate notifications.
- Support facility initiatives to improve physician engagement; facilitate communication between Administration, the MEC, and medical staff membership.
- Support other activities in the Medical Staff office which may include, call schedules, orientations, onboarding medical staff functions and other areas as assigned.
- Review applicant qualifications for eligibility for specific delineation of privileges, review ongoing professional practice data for issues related to current privileges and clinical practice procedural case logs and other qualifications as outlined in privilege forms.
Requirements
- Proven interpersonal, communication, customer service and organizational skills.
- Experience with computers and software.
- Ability to participate in high-level confidential interactions with diplomacy and tact.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare or as administrative assistant.
- Preferred certifications: Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM).

Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $24.60 - $37.46
Schedule
Monday-Friday Business hours 8:00 am-5:00 pm. No Holidays or Weekends
