About the role
The Medical Supply Driver plays a crucial role in facilitating Trilab Health's logistics operations across Illinois. This position involves safely transporting medical samples and supplies to various healthcare establishments and patients.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical samples and supplies to assigned destinations, following strict handling procedures.
- Maintain a reliable delivery schedule, adapt to changes in traffic, and select optimal routes to ensure efficiency.
- Carefully load and unload items, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections for maintenance and safety issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized to safeguard sample and supply cleanliness.
- Accurately document delivery information, vehicle mileage, and fuel usage.
- Engage with healthcare clients and patients professionally and courteously.
- Follow all transportation laws and company policies related to healthcare logistics.
- Be adaptable to changing shift patterns, including availability for weekends and possible overtime.
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Experience in a commercial driving role, preferably within the medical logistics field.
- Knowledge of driving safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks, including lifting, sitting, and standing for long periods.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 10-30 lbs.
- Capacity to sit for extended periods during drives and stand for durations during loading and unloading.
- Flexibility and mobility to handle physical activities associated with delivery and transportation.
Additional Requirements
- Openness to work evening shifts and weekends as needed by the organization.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening before commencement of employment.
