About the role

The Sonographer functions as a healthcare provider who, working under the authority of the Lead Sonographer, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist physicians with patient diagnosis and treatment. Activities are performed consistent with education, training, facility policies, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform sonography procedures in assigned specialty area(s).
• Provide clinically relevant information to assist physicians with diagnosis and treatment.
• Mentor and support staff sonographers.
• Demonstrate proficiency with documentation software and report generation.

Requirements

• Extensive sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in providing sonography services.
• Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of employment.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning (e.g., continuing education, higher education, research, staff training).
