Medical Social Worker- LCSW Required

Overview

Full‑time position with a salary range of $65,000.00 to $72,000.00. Territory includes Washington, Russell, Smyth, Wise, Lee, Scott counties and the city of Bristol, VA.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with health‑related financial, social, and emotional concerns and promote effective coping skills
• Provide social work services in accordance with the plan of care
• Communicate changes in the patient’s clinical status to healthcare team members and care center office staff promptly
• Educate patients, families, and team members on medical social work interventions and treatment plans
• Perform care planning, transfer, and discharge functions
• Identify risks or threats to the patient’s health in the environment and implement appropriate interventions
• Communicate identified risks/threats to physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate care
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctorate degree from a CSWE‑accredited school of social work
• At least one year of social work experience in a health‑care setting
• Meets state and federal requirements for the position
• Current CPR certification

Pay

Salary range: $65,000.00 – $72,000.00, reflecting labor costs across U.S. geographic markets and may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
