As part of the Panoramic Health network, you'll join a collaborative team focused on improving the lives of patients with chronic kidney disease and related conditions. We're seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to serve as one of the first points of contact for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion while directing them to the appropriate staff.
- Answer incoming phone calls, assist patients, and route calls and messages appropriately.
- Schedule and confirm office appointments, diagnostic testing, procedures, surgeries, and medical consultations.
- Register patients and accurately complete intake paperwork, insurance information, and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence.
- Receive, distribute, and transmit medical records, laboratory results, referrals, and other documentation via fax, email, and mail.
- Absorb patient billing and administrative documentation.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other office documents using Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain office files, medical records, and supply inventory.
- Support daily front office operations and provide administrative assistance to the clinical team.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of office or administrative experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of medical office experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures.
