Job Summary
The Medical Scribe is responsible for recording a Physician’s interactions with patients and assisting with clerical duties related to medical documentation.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Take notes during patient visits and document them in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Learn about the medical process and use a team approach in patient supervision and documentation.
- Work with a supervising Physician or Doctor to complete and submit medical records.
- Communicate with patients and supervise physicians professionally.
- Complete all administrative tasks efficiently.
- Help electronically prescribe medication for patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Advanced computer skills.

- Ability to expertly document patient care and transcribe patient appointments.
- Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of the patients.
- Strong organization, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and mulit-task in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Work Environment
Work performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with patients, physicians, and medical office staff. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is frequent and often disruptive.
