Medical Scribe

About the role

A Medical Scribe is responsible for relieving a physician of their clerical duties, thereby allowing a physician to focus their attention on providing the best care to the patient. They document dictated notes during a patient visit on the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), facilitate diagnostic tests, and provide exceptional customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple patients per hour.
• Maintain a quick pace in a fast-paced medical office setting.
• Provide compassionate care to patients.
• Aid the physician with basic patient care and clerical duties (including locating and obtaining patient’s medical history, documenting notes on the EMR system, and facilitating diagnostic tests).
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
• Help maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
• Assist with training and acclimation of new hire scribes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by office managers.

Requirements

• A High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Chinese required.
• Computer and typing skills are required - minimum of 45 wpm.
• Passion for helping others.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
