Responsibilities

• Document the patient history, including a review of systems, past medical history, family and social histories, medications, and allergies.
• Ensure that all documentation is adequately transposed into the patient’s chart and ready for the Physician’s review at all times.
• Obtain medical records and prepare the patient’s chart for all new patient consultations, add-ons, and scheduled follow-ups.
• Accompany the physician during the whole duration of the patient consultation.
• Scanning of all documentation into the patient’s chart, as needed.
• Work synergistically with the Medical Assistant’s to ensure optimal patient care.

Skills

• Preferred knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, NextGen knowledge preferred.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional telephone etiquette and professional interaction with patients, physicians, and staff members.
• Ability to be detail oriented.
• Proficient typing skills.
• Excellent listening skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Preferred 1-2 years current medical scribe experience.
