About the role

This role is truly part-time, with most shifts lasting 4 to 6 hours per day, 3 or more days per week—designed to fit your life. We will confirm availability, along with shift days and times, early in the interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
  • Perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
  • Monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
  • Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines.
  • Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal.
  • Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures.
  • Test sample and record other donor measures such as hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
  • Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS).
  • Care for the center management team in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
  • Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
  • Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
  • Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.

Qualifications

  • Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear.
  • One or more years of minimum experience working in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful.

Pay

The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.00. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives and may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
