Medical Science Liaison - Uncontrolled Gout - Rare Disease - AR, LA, MS

About the role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Uncontrolled Gout in the Rare Disease franchise, you will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and scientific community, establishing and maintaining relationships with prominent experts and clinicians across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. You will help pioneer biotechnology advancements in one of our four key therapeutic areas, reaching millions of patients each year and making a lasting impact on their lives.

Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors, managed care decision makers, and pharmacy directors, while adhering to applicable compliance, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
• Understand, integrate, and effectively communicate scientific and medical information, as well as the commercial value of products, to the medical community and other key internal and external audiences.
• Prioritize and work effectively in a self-directed manner within a constantly changing environment, including obtaining, integrating, and communicating customer feedback.
• Align customer unmet needs with available internal resources.
• Collaborate with all functional areas to identify opportunities and needs that can be addressed through scientific, medical, and health economic information.
• Identify and train potential new speakers on scientific content for sponsored external speaker programs.
• Participate in national and regional conferences, meetings, and other scientific venues to support the Medical/Clinical strategy, gather competitive intelligence, stay current on clinical trends, and maintain relationships with key investigators and researchers.
• Evaluate potential external clinical research collaboration opportunities in conjunction with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development teams, and facilitate the conduct of investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials.
• Monitor the competitive environment for advances and trends in therapeutic areas, including new treatment management, therapies, and competitive products, and provide feedback to senior leadership on competitor initiatives.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience OR
• Master’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered).
• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to network.
• Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, regional and national conferences, workshops, and company meetings.
• Willingness to work up to 15-hour days due to travel requirements.
• Ability to learn and use new business applications across hardware tools (e.g., PC, iPad).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Professional, proactive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
