Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders (TLs), healthcare providers (HCPs), and access stakeholders to address scientific, unsolicited product, and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) questions using various interaction channels (1:1, group presentations, remote).
- Demonstrate proficiency in using scientific resources and presentations, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with ethical, legal, and procedural guidelines.
- Actively assess the medical landscape by engaging with TLs, HCPs, and access stakeholders to understand their needs, expertise, and treatment strategies.
- Continuously update knowledge of products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, HEOR, and competitive landscapes to address customer informational needs.
- Identify opportunities to partner with HCPs on disease state initiatives, collaborative research, and investigator-sponsored research (ISR) aligned with BMS strategic objectives.
- Attend medical congresses and local/regional meetings to collect and communicate meaningful medical insights, supporting strategy development and business decisions.
- Develop geography-specific Field Medical and TL interaction plans based on therapeutic area objectives and TL needs, adopting an institution/account planning approach.
- Contribute to cross-functional institution/account plans and the development of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects.
- Establish customer-centric, compliant collaboration with cross-matrix field teams and support medical/scientific training and updates for internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance).
- Provide scientific support at promotional meetings, including presenting clinical data, evaluating speakers, and supporting BMS-contracted speakers.
- Support interventional and non-interventional research (NIR) studies, including site identification, feasibility assessments, and patient recruitment.
- Provide insights to clinical development teams on study and site feasibilities and support HCPs in the ISR submission and execution process.
- Ensure understanding and application of BMS Pharmacovigilance procedural documents by investigators and report adverse events as required.
- Actively support CRO-sponsored studies as agreed with home office medical and Global Development Operations (GDO).
Requirements
- Advanced degree: MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, or NP with experience in a specific disease area or a broad medical background and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
- Disease area knowledge and understanding of scientific publications, clinical trial design, and the national healthcare and access environment.
- Knowledge of HEOR core concepts and the competitive landscape, including patient treatment trends.
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
- Ability to drive a company-provided car is essential; candidates must possess a safe driving history and be able to travel between locations efficiently.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2 years working in a clinical and/or pharmaceutical environment.
- Prior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to translate scientific/clinical data for healthcare professionals.
- Experience developing peer-to-peer relationships with TLs, scientists, and HCPs.
- Ability to quickly learn new subject areas and environments.

Schedule
- Field-based position; the MSL will be required to live in the territory they manage or within 50 miles of the territory borders.
- The majority of time will be spent in the field engaging with external customers.
- Travel is required based on territory assignment and team needs.
Pay
Starting compensation range for this full-time role in the United States is $166,090 - $201,262. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available based on eligibility. The starting pay rate reflects required skills, job location, work schedule, and relevant experience. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience.
