Medical Science Liaison - Oncology - MN, SD, ND
About the role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for the Oncology Therapeutic Area will interact with healthcare decision-makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen's organizational goals and objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Communicate complex cutting-edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision-makers, including those at academic medical centers.
- Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision-makers.
- Identify and train members of Amgen's speakers bureau and ensure they are updated on new data.
- Respond to requests for investigator-sponsored research proposals.
- Support Amgen-sponsored research.
- Provide insights based on field interactions with healthcare thought leaders to Amgen partners.
- Provide scientific support, consistent with MSL compliance standards, for commercial, corporate accounts, and other matrix colleagues who may forward HCP inquiries.
- Cultivate scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training.
- Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership.
- Seek opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes.
- Demonstrate tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with individuals.
- Exemplify transparency and innovation through words, actions, and decisions.
Responsibilities

- Communicate complex cutting-edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision-makers, including but not limited to those at Academic Medical Centers.

Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- A Doctorate degree OR
- A Masters degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR
- A Bachelors degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience
- A Pharm. D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O.
- 3 or more years of experience in a medically related field, including 1 or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
- Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
- Oncology therapeutic area expertise
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- OR
- Masters degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience
- OR
- Bachelors degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience

- 3 or more years of experience in a medically related field, including 1 or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule
The role is field-based and requires significant travel to meet with healthcare professionals and attend meetings.
