About the role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) identifies, develops, and maintains collaborative working relationships with national and regional medical and scientific key opinion leaders (KOLs) to align interests, discuss medical/scientific information, and research for ADMA products and associated disease states. The MSL serves as the scientific and clinical expert, providing comprehensive, accurate, fair-balanced, and scientifically rigorous information to KOLs, healthcare professionals, formulary decision-makers, and internal partners. The role contributes medical perspective to product development, brand planning, and supports the clinical research group in managing clinical trials and writing scientific articles.
Responsibilities
- Provide current clinical and research-related information on the ADMA product portfolio, including efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacoeconomic profiles of marketed and pipeline products, as well as disease state management (hepatitis B, primary/secondary immunodeficiency, transplantation (HSCT and SOT), and infections in immunocompromised hosts).
- Deliver relevant clinical and research-related information, including competitive pipeline insights, to the medical and research community.
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs in the company’s niche market within a specific geographic region, conducting onsite visits as necessary.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from healthcare providers.
- Assist in identifying potential investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials and navigate investigator-initiated research proposals through the review process.
- Provide clinical expertise to internal departments as needed.
- Deliver formal presentations on scientific information to KOLs and others in both private and public sectors.
- Provide scientific and medical information to support product consideration on drug lists/formularies with population health decision-makers.
- Collaborate with medical and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with FDA and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues (sales, marketing, market access) to align medical strategies and business plans with patient and business needs.
- Support sales and marketing in competitive surveillance of disease states and products in ADMA’s commercialization and pipeline development areas.
- Attend scientific conferences to gather, analyze, and synthesize new scientific information relevant to ADMA products and disease states, gaining medical voice-of-the-customer insights.
- Actively participate in the development and management of Advisory Boards and Key Opinion Leader Programs.
Requirements
- An advanced medical degree is required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA, RPh).
- A minimum of 2 years of previous MSL experience and/or equivalent clinical practice/research experience in immunology, pulmonology/respiratory, infectious disease, and/or transplant (HSCT or SOT).
- Preferred: A minimum of 3 years of previous MSL experience and/or equivalent clinical practice/research experience in the specified therapeutic areas.
