Medical Science Liaison - Immunology - GI - Rocky Mountain (CO, UT, ID, MT, WY)

At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines, we are recruiting for a Medical Science Liaison, Immunology - GI in the Rocky Mountain territory covering Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. The ideal candidate will reside in Denver, CO.

About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) provides fair, balanced, and objective scientific information and education to opinion leaders (OLs), healthcare professionals, and internal partners. The MSL serves as a scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine products in the Immunology/GI therapeutic area. This field-based role requires extensive travel (75-80%) primarily within the assigned geography, with occasional meeting travel outside the territory.

The MSL builds external relationships with healthcare providers (MD, PA, NP, RN, Pharm.D., biocoordinators) and develops a strategic territory plan. Responsibilities include educational activities, research support, and compliance with regulatory and healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strategic territory plan, including educational activities with identified OLs, HCPs, institutions, and community practices.
• Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from HCPs, investigators, and healthcare systems, integrating scientific data into real-life practice.
• Present data and information tailored to the audience, executing proactive and reactive outreach as approved via legal/healthcare compliance processes.
• Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives while balancing administrative duties and project responsibilities.
• Leverage knowledge of standards of care, clinical trials, and competitor landscape to facilitate external-internal research communication.
• Engage with external investigators on unsolicited research inquiries and act as a liaison to R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations teams.
• Provide clinical trial support, including identifying potential sites, resolving issues, and participating in meetings (e.g., site initiation visits, investigator launch meetings).
• Lead at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project, identifying educational gaps and elevating team acumen.
• Actively participate in team calls, trainings, and journal clubs, sharing scientific news and insights.
• Attend and provide leadership at scientific conferences to gather and disseminate new scientific information.
• Document and share medical insights, synthesizing data for the MSL team and other partners.
• Represent Johnson & Johnson at scientific meetings, congresses, symposia, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and speaking engagements.
• Perform administrative tasks (e.g., expense reports, activity documentation) in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
• Support regional and local initiatives to enhance sales training and improve field personnel competencies.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory guidelines, corporate policies, and Medical Affairs SOPs.

Requirements

• Advanced degree: PharmD, PhD, MD, NP (Nurse Practitioner), or PA (Physician Assistant) with 2+ years of relevant therapeutic area clinical experience.
• Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to drive and fly to meetings/congresses/headquarters.
• Reside in the territory (preferably Denver, CO).
• Demonstrated competency in IBD disease state, trial design, and data interpretation.
• Strong foundational skills in influence, communication, stakeholder engagement, and data insights dissemination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical) with presentation skills.
• Knowledge or experience in Rheumatology and/or Immunology strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies.

Pay

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $117,000.00 - $201,250.00.
