Medical Science Liaison - Cell Therapy & Transplant

About the role

CareDx is a leading precision medicine diagnostics company advancing care in transplant, specialty oncology, and cell therapy. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cell Therapy & Transplant (CTT) will collaborate directly with the Medical Director and other cross-functional stakeholders to support initiation and management of a pivotal clinical study for AlloHeme, a blood-based NGS relapse prediction test for post bone marrow transplant AML & MDS patients.

Additionally, the MSL will be responsible for scientific exchange and advice-seeking with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in bone marrow and cell therapy transplant. Once the AlloHeme test is commercially available, the MSL will educate physicians and other key stakeholders at transplant centers about the available data and the clinical value of the AlloHeme test. The MSL will also be involved in establishing research collaborations and engaging with KOLs to support additional product launches, including molecular testing for post cell therapy monitoring.

This is a remote-based role with significant travel required (up to 50%) to attend scientific conferences, visit research sites, and engage with KOLs.

Responsibilities

• Support CareDx-sponsored clinical trial(s) alongside clinical operations.
• Develop strong and productive working relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy to introduce CareDx, share recent data readouts, and gather market insights.
• Partner with the medical director and biostats team in writing and submitting abstracts and publications to highlight test performance and clinical utility.
• Help identify and support investigator-initiated studies in support of company research priorities.
• Communicate existing unmet clinical needs and how CareDx in-development products will help meet these needs.
• Analyze, interpret, and clarify test results of commercially available CTT tests in conjunction with other clinical data.
• Assist new product development in defining unmet needs, product performance requirements, and launch plans.
• Provide clinical support for Customer Service inquiries and complaints.
• Participate in Advisory Board meetings with KOLs.
• Support company initiatives at clinical and scientific meetings.
• Function as a clinical liaison and resource to payer and insurance groups.

Requirements

• Healthcare professionals with relevant clinical sciences knowledge in oncology will be considered: Pharm D, PhD, or MD.
• Prior experience in an MSL role preferred and/or experience introducing new clinical laboratory tests.
• 3-5+ years of work experience in bone marrow transplantation and/or oncology.
• Experience collaborating with research staff and key opinion leaders on clinical trials (sponsored and investigator-initiated).
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines is a plus.
• Experience drafting impactful case studies, conference abstracts/posters, and publications.
• Outstanding oral presentation skills, including the ability to clearly present clinical data and address clinical & scientific questions related to CareDx CTT products.
• Experience establishing strong, collaborative working relationships with clinicians, internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D), and external customers.
• Knowledge of molecular biology and immunology is helpful.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style.

This is a remote-based role with preference for candidates living in the west coast US. Significant travel will be required (up to 50%).

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this role in the United States is $157,000—$190,000 USD. The final salary offered will depend on factors such as experience, education, and industry knowledge. This role may also be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
