Medical Science Liaison

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert within Medical Affairs responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and multidisciplinary heart failure teams. This individual will serve as the primary scientific resource for clinicians involved in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support, facilitating scientific exchange, supporting evidence generation activities, gathering clinical insights, and helping establish best practices for BrioVAD patient management.

Travel: Approximately 50% throughout the United States.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a scientific expert in advanced heart failure, durable LVAD therapy, and mechanical circulatory support.
• Provide accurate, balanced, and evidence-based scientific information regarding BrioVAD technology, clinical data, patient selection, and patient management.
• Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries and support scientific discussions with healthcare professionals.
• Communicate emerging clinical evidence and translate data into meaningful clinical insights.
• Develop and maintain scientific relationships with heart failure cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, VAD coordinators, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Identify and engage emerging and established KOLs within the advanced heart failure community.
• Support investigator engagement activities and facilitate scientific collaboration opportunities.
• Act as a liaison between BrioHealth and clinical sites participating in research and evidence-generation activities.
• Gather, analyze, and communicate field insights related to clinical practice, unmet needs, patient management, and evolving treatment paradigms.
• Identify opportunities to advance scientific understanding and improve patient outcomes.
• Support investigator-initiated studies, publication activities, and evidence-generation initiatives.
• Provide actionable field intelligence to Medical Affairs and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure clinical insights inform company strategy and product development.
• Contribute to the development of scientific content, educational materials, and congress-related activities.
• Maintain awareness of competitive developments, emerging technologies, and evolving standards of care within advanced heart failure and MCS.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant clinical, scientific, or industry experience.
• Experience in advanced heart failure, cardiac surgery, critical care, mechanical circulatory support, or related cardiovascular specialties.
• Strong scientific communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data to diverse healthcare audiences.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced clinical degree (MSN, NP, PA, PharmD, PhD, DNP, or equivalent).
• Prior Medical Science Liaison experience.
• Experience supporting Class III implantable medical devices.
• Direct experience with LVADs, mechanical circulatory support, heart failure therapies, or structural heart technologies.
• Experience supporting clinical studies, publications, investigator-initiated research, or evidence-generation activities.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with KOLs and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Strong organizational, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
