Duties
- Performs verification of patient insurance coverage
- Obtains patient insurance information through automated databases
- Direct patient contact
- Contact with insurance companies
- Obtains patient insurance information through automated databases
- Verifies benefits - policy number - pre-certification requirements - and effective dates of coverage
- Generates monthly reports as required
- Tracks - reviews - and corrects denials
- Responds to patients' questions
- Verifies the accuracy of payments
Qualifications
- To qualify for this position at the GS-5 level - you must meet one of the following:
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (GS-5): At least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge - skills - and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position - and that is typically in or related to the work of this position.
- To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level - you must meet the following:
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (GS-6): At least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge - skills - and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position - and that is typically in or related to the work of this position.
Education
- Successful completion of (4) years of education above the high school level.
Combining Education and Experience
- Combination of successfully completed post high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
Pay
This position does not offer a pay scale.
Schedule
Monday through Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm
