Medical Records Reviewer
About the role
The Medical Record Reviewer executes audits as a part of the Company's clinical compliance audit and Quality Assurance controls program. The Medical Record Reviewer executes clinically-related (i.e. medical record and related treatments) audit procedures to assess compliance-related controls to safeguard company resources and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical treatment and document compliance.
Responsibilities
- Executes clinically-related (i.e. medical record and related treatments) audit procedures to assess compliance-related controls to safeguard company resources and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical treatment and document compliance.
- Makes recommendations for improvement of controls in processes to ensure risk management, control and regulatory standards are being followed as intended, and will enable the objectives and goals to be met.
- Works closely with the Director of Quality/Risk Management, the Medical Staff, the Director of Nursing, and the Director of Therapy to make recommendations for improvement of controls in processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a clinical or quality assurance role.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Current certification in a relevant field (e.g., Certified Medical Records Technician).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
