Medical Records Clerk
About the role
Responsible for performing office duties in the Health Information Management (HIM) Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Files and scans records, manages the release of information, HIPPA, protected health information (PHI), retention guidelines, and documentation requirements. Assures that medical records are accurate and completed in a timely manner to support patient care, business, and financial objectives.

Requirements
- 1 year experience of working in a medical setting
Qualifications
- Coursework/Training: 2 years of community college/business school training
- Coursework/Training: Additional course work in business or health care related subjects
- Coursework/Training: Completion of ICD-9-CM, CPT coding, and/or Medical Terminology courses
- 2 years Medical Office experience in a busy physician group practice
- Experience with electronic medical record
Skills
- Strong organizational skills

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
