About the role

Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers is seeking a Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) on a PRN basis in Florence, KY. The ideal candidate must have open availability to work any/all shifts within the office hours of 7:30am-5:30pm, with occasional flexibility to work earlier or later as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
  • Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave.
  • Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times.
  • Prioritize patient and doctor time with urgency.
  • Double check insurance authorizations to ensure completion and build accurate flow sheets.
  • Manage patient flow in the office, complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA.
  • Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Favorable result on Background Check.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excitement to learn and grow.

  • Reliable transportation to travel between multiple work locations with minimal notice.

  • Ability to grow, adapt, and accept change.

  • Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times.

Education

  • A High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Sometimes lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required.
