Medical Receptionist - Physical Therapy Office

Job Summary

Join our team as a Medical Receptionist in our Branford physical therapy office! Reporting to the PT Site Supervisor, this entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others and thrives in a customer-focused environment. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming experience while performing key administrative duties, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, phone support, and co-pay collection.

Essential Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, check in patients, verify insurance
• Collect Co-pay
• Schedule appointments for evaluations and follow-ups
• Follows all Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists P.C. policies and procedures
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information into the Electronic Medical Record
• Determine fees and process appropriate copayments, properly record information
• Maintain appropriate levels of cash and balance cash drawer according to procedure
• Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate of Arts degree, Medical Assistant or Medical Administrative certificate or higher preferred
• Minimum of one year of front desk experience with a medical practice, including electronic medical record-keeping and insurance authorizations as well as Orthopaedic or Physical Therapy background preferred

• Branford, CT
• Monday: 7am-3pm
• Tuesday: 10am-6pm
• Wednesday: 7am-3pm
• Thursday: 10am-6pm
• Friday: 8am-4pm

About the Role

Connecticut Orthopaedics (CO) has been serving patients in the greater New Haven area for over 60 years. Our practice has merged with several surrounding orthopaedic groups over the past several years and has become the largest privately-owned orthopaedic practice in New England. Due to our quality of care and attentiveness to our patients, we are proudly the team of orthopaedic physicians for multiple colleges and high schools as well as have our own physical therapy centers. In addition to our orthopaedic service line, we have three MRI suites, (5) acute care orthopaedic walk-in centers and a surgery center in Branford.
