Medical Receptionist - Farmington - Primary Care

About the Role
Join our Farmington Primary Care team as a Business Services Representative and become an essential part of our patients’ healthcare experience. As the first point of contact, you’ll create a warm and welcoming environment—whether greeting patients in person or assisting them over the phone. You’ll manage appointment scheduling, patient registration, insurance verification, and collect copays and payments at the time of service. You’ll also coordinate pre-authorizations, referrals, and help prepare charts to ensure smooth and efficient visits. Your attention to detail and commitment to outstanding customer service will help keep our practice running efficiently while supporting our providers in delivering compassionate, high-quality primary care to the Farmington community.
Responsibilities
- Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner, identifying yourself and your department.
- Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
- Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
- Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred.
- Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
- Excellent keyboard skills; proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment and Microsoft Office products.
- Accuracy and dependability required.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
