We are looking for a Full Time Medical Receptionist in Toms River, NJ, with occasional travel to Brick and Forked River.
About the Role
The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors within a healthcare setting, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role is critical in managing patient flow by scheduling appointments, verifying patient information, and coordinating communication between patients and medical staff. The receptionist maintains accurate records, handles sensitive patient data with confidentiality, and facilitates smooth administrative operations, supporting the overall efficiency and quality of care provided by the healthcare facility.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel.
- Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation complies with privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
- Collect co-payments and process billing information as required.
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff to facilitate timely care.
- Manage waiting area to ensure a comfortable environment and timely patient flow.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry to support clinic operations.

- Proficiency with EHR software and general computer literacy for accurate data entry and retrieval.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office procedures.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Receptionist or Medical Administrative Assistant.
- Experience with specific EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
- Familiarity with insurance verification and billing processes.
- Training in HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Pay
Competitive base salary.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
