Job Summary

This role evaluates donors' eligibility for automated plasmapheresis procedures, administers and supervises approved immunizations, and provides limited emergency care as permitted by licensure or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate donor eligibility through medical history reviews, physical assessments, and informed consent discussions in accordance with SOPs, FDA, CLIA, and cGMP.
  • Review, document, and verify donor information, immunization records, and test results in the donor management system (NexLynk).
  • Classify donors into appropriate programs and monitor for adverse reactions, providing care as allowed by training and licensure.
  • Counsel deferred donors, ensure confidentiality, and refer donors to health departments when needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as Physician Communication Logs and donor eligibility assessments.
  • Train as a Donor Center Technician I and serve as a QA Backup when needed.
  • Mentor and train new Medical Professionals as a Designated Trainer to support workforce development.
  • Support center compliance with SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure an efficient, donor-focused environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Physician, LPN, or RN: Graduate of a recognized healthcare-related program.
  • EMT Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced/Paramedic: Certification or license as an emergency medical technician, if allowable.
  • One (1) year of experience in hospital, field care, or plasma center settings preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motor tasks such as drawing blood.
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
  • Ability to reach, bend, and stoop as necessary.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable).
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
  • Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Ability to view monitors less than 18” from face for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in environments as cold as -40°C and handle dry ice occasionally.
  • Ability to perform CPR and respond immediately to donor adverse reactions.
