About the role
The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, invites applications for a faculty position in its Clinical Medical Physics Division. The successful applicant will help drive innovation and clinical implementation across medical physics while overseeing safety, quality, and accreditation processes, with a primary focus on X-ray–based modalities and ultrasound.
Responsibilities
- Help drive innovation and clinical implementation across medical physics
- Oversee safety, quality, and accreditation processes
- Provide direct support and leadership for projects including specification of software and hardware for new equipment
- Periodically evaluate imaging system performance
- Develop advanced clinical applications and procedures
- Study design and integration and optimization of clinical and research protocols
- Teach radiology and medical physics residents, as well as allied health staff such as technologists, sonographers, and nurses
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a PhD from an accredited graduate program in Medical Physics, or an equivalent qualification
- Must be board-eligible or board-certified in imaging physics to meet State of Florida medical physics licensure requirements
