Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care by ensuring the absolute precision and safety of all medical imaging and radiation therapy equipment. Perform rigorous equipment calibrations and quality improvement reviews to optimize clinical performance and safeguard both patients and staff.
Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team and radiation oncologists to design, calculate, and verify precise clinical documentation for patient treatments. Lead comprehensive radiation safety training and implement strict compliance procedures as a dedicated Medical Physicist across the departments.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: Medical Physicist credentialed from the Texas Board of Licensure for Professional Medical Physicists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required:
- Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Medical Physics obtained within 36 Months (3 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Radiology obtained within 36 Months (3 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) in Diagnostic Radiology Physics, American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine (ABSNM) as a Medical Physicist (DABSNM), American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) as a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP), American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) as a Certified Health Physicist (CHP) or a Diplomate (DABHP) also accepted in lieu of ABR or ABMP.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Qualifications
Previous Nuclear Medicine / PET / CT physicist experience preferred.
