About the role

A clinically competent, certified advanced practice clinician specializing in medical oncology and hematology care. The role involves comprehensive patient assessments, management of complex cases, symptom control, survivorship planning, and patient education in collaboration with physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assessments and manage treatment plans for oncology and hematology patients.
  • Support infusion centers and manage side effects and infusion reactions.
  • Develop survivorship and palliative care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on diagnosis, therapy, and side effect management.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for inpatient admissions, discharges, and acute care.
  • Administer intrathecal chemotherapy and participate in after-hours call rotations.
  • Participate in after-hours triage and urgent care needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Experience in oncology clinical or nursing roles.
  • Licensure as an advanced practice clinician in the relevant state, with DEA and BLS certifications.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with electronic health records.
  • Confidentiality and crisis management.
