About the Role

The Medical Office Specialist supervises daily operations of the medical office, including patient scheduling, check-in/out, registration documentation, communication with patients and providers, and answering phones.

They handle insurance authorizations, collect co-pays and payments, enter charges, and balance daily transactions. Additionally, they manage medical records and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily medical office operations
  • Manage patient scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes
  • Handle registration documentation and communication with patients and providers
  • Answer phones and address patient inquiries
  • Process insurance authorizations
  • Collect co-pays and payments
  • Enter charges and balance daily transactions
  • Manage medical records and office supplies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least three years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Proficiency in interpreting information to make independent decisions
  • Physical abilities: bending, lifting (10-30 lbs), and prolonged standing or sitting
  • Computer literacy
