About the Role
The Medical Office Specialist supervises daily operations of the medical office, including patient scheduling, check-in/out, registration documentation, communication with patients and providers, and answering phones.
They handle insurance authorizations, collect co-pays and payments, enter charges, and balance daily transactions. Additionally, they manage medical records and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily medical office operations
- Manage patient scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes
- Handle registration documentation and communication with patients and providers
- Answer phones and address patient inquiries
- Process insurance authorizations
- Collect co-pays and payments
- Enter charges and balance daily transactions
- Manage medical records and office supplies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three years of related experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Proficiency in interpreting information to make independent decisions
- Physical abilities: bending, lifting (10-30 lbs), and prolonged standing or sitting
- Computer literacy
