About the role
Full-time position (Monday - Friday, days) with no nights, no on-call, no weekends, and no holidays. We are seeking a Medical Office Specialist to provide clerical expertise ensuring all patients receive high-quality, efficient care. Responsibilities
- Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers.
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Check in patients and properly document registration.
- Verify insurance and patient demographics.
- File and retrieve medical records/files.
- Perform copying and faxing duties.
- Collect co-pays and cash from patients, obtain authorization on credit cards.
- Enter charges, payments, and balance the day on the computer.
- Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission and Value Statement.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- One to three years of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience using an EHR system is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a specific specialty is preferred.
