Medical Office Receptionist - General Surgery
About the role
The position highlights a Medical Office Receptionist for General Surgery in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role operates from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM CST, with no rotating weekends currently scheduled but subject to change.
Responsibilities
- Provides office support including reception, scheduling, and patient assistance at designated points of service.
- Greets incoming patients and visitors, offering congenial and hospitable customer service.
- Refers patients and visitors to appropriate departments or resources.
- Notifies relevant resources of patients and visitors' arrivals promptly.
- Serves as a point of contact for new patients, scheduling appointments, and rescheduling missed or cancelled appointments.
- Collects co-pays and balances, and follows up on appointments as necessary.
- Responds to patient and visitor inquiries, utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures.
- Maintains communication with other departments, team members, physician offices, the hospital, or patients as needed.
- Performs various clerical tasks as needed, such as ordering supplies, opening mail, operating standard office machines, and assisting with medical records and clinical personnel.
- Maintains work and waiting areas in a neat and professional manner.
- Assists with special projects as assigned.
- Adheres to Endeavor Health's standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- One year of customer service work experience or public interaction.
- Preferred knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient computer skills.

Pay
The hourly pay range is $18.38 - $26.65, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience.
Schedule
Full Time: 40 hours/week, Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM CST. No rotating weekends at this time, but this is subject to change in future.
