About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with a strong background in medical malpractice defense to join our growing legal team. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a full caseload of medical malpractice defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Evaluate claims by collaborating with medical experts to assess the applicable standard of care and potential liability.
  • Research, analyze, and develop legal strategies for complex issues and evolving case law.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, insurance representatives, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient case management.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments while consistently meeting litigation deadlines.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, participate in mediations and arbitrations, and prepare and argue motions.
  • Represent clients during in-person and virtual court appearances.
  • Work closely with attorneys, partners, and support staff on litigation strategy and case development while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of medical malpractice defense litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, motion practice, and other complex litigation responsibilities.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a high-volume litigation caseload.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Experience with billable hour requirements.
  • Motivated to continue developing professionally within a litigation practice.
