About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join a leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney to develop expertise in a growing practice area while working alongside accomplished partners and legal professionals. This position offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of medical malpractice and healthcare defense matters from inception through resolution.
- Take and defend depositions, appear in court, and participate in all phases of litigation.
- Develop litigation strategy in partnership with experienced attorneys and firm leadership.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other substantive legal filings.
- Build strong relationships with healthcare clients by providing strategic counsel and regular case updates.
- Work on complex and high-profile healthcare litigation, including a significant docket of COVID-related claims and other emerging liability matters.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice in NY
- 2+ years of litigation experience; medical malpractice or healthcare litigation experience is a plus
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments clearly and concisely
Pay
Salary Range: $140,000 USD - $190,000 USD. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law.
