Medical Laboratory Technologist/Medical Technologist

About the role

Taylor Regional Hospital is seeking a MLT/MT to join the laboratory team at the Jane Wheatley Medical Building. This role involves performing a wide range of laboratory procedures while supporting the hospital's mission to provide outstanding healthcare to the community.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of laboratory procedures
• Assists with instruction to students and new team members of lab procedures
• Participates in required education, competencies, and annual training
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other team members
• Follows HIPAA compliance
• Recognizes variation in test results and the ability to determine accuracy
• Familiar with lab equipment, operation of equipment, and problem solving if needed
• Follows all current and up to date lab procedures and policies

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor's degree specializing as a Med Tech or Med Lab Tech
• ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent certifications required
• New grads welcome — no experience necessary
• BLS required through American Heart Association (renewals included with TRH employment)

Qualifications

• Strong and effective communication skills
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Maintain focus and follow complex protocols
• Familiarity with equipment and testing procedures
• Ability to lift over 35 lbs

Schedule

Full time position for Weekend Nights or Weekday Nights available. PRN positions also available.
