Medical Laboratory Technician / Scientist - MLT/MLS

About the role

Missouri Baptist Sullivan is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join their Laboratory team. This role supports Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank services.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens.
• Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required.
• Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
• Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
• Maintains quality control performance and corrects any problems and/or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
• Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
• Trains new personnel in methods, procedures, and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Science/related field.
• ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges.
• Good laboratory practice.
