Location: Lancaster, PA | Work Type: PRN | Shift: Varied evening and night shifts

About the Role

The medical laboratory technician, under minimal supervision, is responsible for independently performing complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues. This includes standardized microscopic, chemical, and/or bacteriological testing. All testing is performed in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, FDA, CAP, OSHA, CUA, and Joint Commission regulations and guidelines. Test results are used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, OR
  • High school graduate or equivalent and successful completion of an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks, and held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).
  • Must be eligible for ASCP, AMT, or equivalent board certification exam.
  • Must obtain Medical Laboratory Technician certification within 18 months of hire.

Pay

  • Evening shift differential: $2.00/hour
  • Night shift differential: $2.50/hour
