About the role

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or Medical Technology certifications from an accredited institution.

Essential Functions

  • Familiar with and complies with all safety regulations in the fire code and CDC blood and body fluid precautions.
  • Collections and prepares human samples for analysis.
  • Stores and transports samples using appropriate preservation methods.
  • Be familiar with all testing procedures in the manuals for each section of the laboratory.
  • Recognize and correct basic instrument malfunctions.
  • Operates, calibrates, conducts performance checks, and maintains any clinical instrument or equipment.
  • Conducts established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media and products; evaluates results of quality control and implements corrective action when indicated.
  • Maintains the work area in a clean, orderly condition that ensures that the workplace is in compliance with the federal safety and hygiene policies.
  • Keeps Lab Supervisor informed of activities including unusual patient data or results, instrumentation problems, and public relations problems.

Work Schedule

Tuesday-Saturday 1-9 PM
