About the role
The Laboratory Department at Montrose Regional Health is fully accredited and staffed by certified professionals who work under the supervision of pathologists. This department is known for its specialization in 23 specialties and sub-specialties, offering a wide range of services.
Responsibilities
- Performs various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to support disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Applies techniques in blood banking, hematology, serology, chemistry, and morphological examinations.
- Records test results, quality control, remedial actions, and engages in research activities.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences or a medical laboratory-related field.
- Applicants without current certification must pass the ASCP, NCA (MLT, MT, MLS, or CLS) or equivalent exam within six months of hire.
- Must have at least three months of training in each specialty where the individual performs high-complexity testing.

- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
